James was born in Sydney, spent his early childhood in Rural NSW, grew up in Western Sydney, and studied Social Science at the University of New England. After spending 6 years in Armidale, he settled in Canberra in late 2013 with his wife and baby daughter. James now works for a community housing organisation and is actively involved in his community. He is also studying Theology and discerning a call to ordained ministry.
